Anyone ever done this, it's a 4 day clinic but only 5 hours actual tuition?

    Dympna Keenan is pro.

Am toying with the idea but it seems expensive at €660 each but that includes all meals and green fees on Old Tom course but doesn't specify how many.

Did try to phone but surprisingly pro shop closes at 4!

    Looking for any feedback please

    Rosapenna

We have really had a superb 4 days.

Arrived on Sunday night for drinks with pro, Dympna Keenan and others doing the clinic, there were 8 of us in total with handicaps from 18 - 36, 2 x 18, 1 x 19, 1 x 20 and other 2 in 30's. The group was divided into 2 sets of 4

Clinic was 2 hours Monday and Tuesday and 1 1/2 Wed.

Monday Dympna spoke to us individually, what were our problem areas, when did we last have a lesson and with whom, how often did we play, how often did we practice. She then looked at us all individually to see where we were at. This was followed by video analysis and she gave each of us an area to work on.

Tuesday we viewed ourselves on video, re-inforced what changes had been made on Monday and further changes were added.

Wednesday - short game, chipping, pitching, putting and bunkers.

Included in the package was as much golf on the Old Tom Morris course and for an extra supplement a round on Sandy Hills - we requested it to be included and it was!!

The hotel itself is fantastic and breakfast, morning coffee, lunch and dinner was all inclusive.

We played Old Tom Morris twice, I played from the whites the 2nd time, we also played Sandy Hills and thanks to Kevin and Hooked we drove over to Portsalon which is a complete monster but a fabulous course to play.

Did clinic work? I think my scores which I posted in different thread show if definitely did and it will be interesting to see if my improvement continues. If anything it got my mojo back and increased my confidence which is a little low while trying to get to terms with a new club, course etc.

    Would I recommend it?

I would, but with reservations. We had a terrific holiday and really enjoyed it. My reservations are to check how many are booked into the clinic before you go. 8 was a perfect number especially as she divided us into 2 groups of 4, however, when I asked her what her maximum no was she told me that she once had 21 which she divided into 3x 7, imo this is too many especially if you have lots of different abilities. On the other hand she also ran a clinic with only 2.

Dympna is a very good pro, with lots of patience, she is attached to Tandragee
