    Hello,

In my golf the electric windows, internal lights and door led stopped working?

Could one fuse do all this? I know the electric windows have circut breaker that is supposed to reset after a few seconds?

    Any ideas?

As far as im remember for a Passat (should be the same for a golf) there is a 15A fuse that controls the (CCU) central convienence unit under the drivers side. The fuse panel is located on the drivers side, open the door and remove the blanking plate. Refer to the fuse map on the otherside of it. There usually is a fuse puller there as well.

Is the 15 A fuse the same as the fuse you find in a standard 3 pin plug for
    a household electrical device?

    Thank you.

No it's not the same. Automotive fuses look like these.....

However, it may be a problem with your door lock.

Additionally, each door has a control unit which is attached to the window motor and have been known to give problems.

No harm to check the fuse first. As posted above, open the drivers door and on the end of the dash you will see the fuse panel cover - remove it and locate the fuse using the legend that is inserted in the cover. The legend will probably be in left hand drive format so you'll have to 'imagine' a mirror image in your head.

EDIT : It should be fuse 5 (7.5A) - one of the small fuses in the upper section of the fuse panel

Yep - I've come across it regularly with VWs.

Here are the fuse maps for the Mk4 Golf. crosstownk is correct its a 7.5 amp fuse for the CCU. Its a 5Amp for the Passat :o

I'd put money on it being the convenience unit too - they are prone to water damage and aren't cheap to replace. Common problem.

Oh and the LHD only fuse diagrams are so irritating....I mean how much effort would it take to have a RHD one for RHD markets?!
