    Hey guys,
Just wondering what insurance cover do ye have for your iPads?
I was hoping to put mine down as a declared item on my home insurance. Anyone else do this?

Probably add it to my house contents insurance when I'm renewing it..

.. it as I tend to do need to add on to it every year with new gadgets I buy! :)

I tried to put my Mac and my iPhone on the House Insurance. They would only cover them if stolen from the house or from the boot of my locked car. I also had to report it to the Gardai. Kinda of pointless in the end and I didn't bother as it was €50 to do it.

    That's fine with me..

.. it's not like I'd put it on the contents insurance for any damage incurred to it!

But how likely is it for a MacBook or an iPhone to be stolen from my house? HIGHLY unlikely. And if it was stolen in college, on the bus or on the street I'd get nothing for them.

There is certainly a market for an all risk and damages insurance for mobile devices. Apparently the major banks stopped doing it because reps etc claimed for new laptops every 6 to 12 months.
