I want Pat Kenny FIRED!! I mean seriously, I don't like arrogant people as it is....but an unnecessarily wealthy, chauvinistic, opinionated ass is seriously too much to bear.



Its not only the fact that he goes on and on about how great he is at what he does and how lucky Ireland is to have an "amazing" broadcaster like him. Its the fact that he is a terrible presenter. He thinks being the presenter of the show that no one should be able to have a word in. It truely sickens me.
He won't do it to any guest from outside Ireland because he trie to suck up to them, but If a trade union leader or celebrity is on the show he speaks over them about his opinion. If they say anything he doesn't like he complains.

heres an example...

During an interview with SIPTU general president Jack O'Connor on The Frontline on November 2, 2009, O'Connor suggested that a "reasonable level of tax" should be levied on "trophy houses". When asked to define the term "trophy house", O'Connor replied: "A house like yours, probably", to which Kenny replied, "I built my house in 1988. How is it a 'trophy house'? I don't want this crap coming at me!"

I know hes been a broadcaster for so many years but seriously...In that time a monkey would've learnt that you never become aggressive towards someone you are interviewing.........the man is Amateur incarnate.


As it is Ryan Tubridy has been doing the Late Late for almost a year and has out done Kenny's ten years on the show...

Sorry about this horrible rant....I just read the Wikiapedia page for him and its just for infuriating..

Yeah I'll give him that, hes better on the frontline than the Late Late and he actually does something..

but I don't like how he just cuts off audience members who are trying to get a point across. Whenever they try explain something he will interrupt them to say an unnecessary 3 word sentence.



I've watched shows in America and they do it so much better. The audience members are giving enough time to speak and are listened to by the presenter. It makes it all the more interesting.

Pat Kenny's defense against Jack O'Connor's slur was totally justified, in my opinion. It was a ridiculous comment. Pat had every right to bite back.

For what its worth, Pat isn't the best at the showbizzy or 'light' interviews (rock stars, celebs etc.) - he just comes across as awkward. It wasn't his comfort zone. However, he can go toe to toe with any serious interviewees, including politicians, economists, and world leaders. Thats why he didn't really fit into the Late Late Show.

Pat should stick to what he is good at (current affairs), and may he keep doing it for years to come.

Pat Kenny does a fine job on The Frontline.

That jibe about trophy houses was a cheap shot and Pat Kenny had every right to challenge him on it. End result is Jack O Connor ended up looking like a right idiot and not for the first time either.

Absolutely, gained a lot of respect for Pat over that one... He's not normally known as a fighter and I like the way he tackled O'Connor on his cheapshot.. O'Connor is on well over 200k a year, so it's more than ironic if he is criticising Pat about being over paid or living in luxury.. I sometimes wonder does Jack O'Connor get elocution lessons to help maintain his working class accent.

We all know that Pat is not great at the lighthearted stuff, but he is excellent at the current affairs, and should be appreciated for that.. RTE "Golden boy" Tubridy is a smug FF pr1ck and should simply not have been given the LLS job as he is far too close to the political establishment.
