Hey, I'm wondering if there's any groups that do LARP around Dublin. I've never actually done any LARPing, but it seems like great fun and I'd like to try it sometime, though I don't know that many people that do it.

Any help would be appreciaated, thanks

Depends what kind of LARP you're looking to get into.

If you're looking for the beating each other with rubber swords type, there's a bunch who train on Sunday afternoons in St Anne's park in Raheny. They have a facebook group here

If you're looking for more the political, boardroom, improvisational theatrey type LARP, where conflicts are decided by dice rolls and stats, your best bet is the Camarilla - they run a number of games based in White Wolfs World of Darkness setting - Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling and Geist in Dublin. They run every Tuesday night, timing in around 7 in the Met bar on eden quay. They have a website at www.camarilla.ie, you can sign up to their forum and ask the people there any questions you have.

Your other option is to go to a con and just play some LARPS there to meet the community, but there's no con coming till October - unless I'm wrong (always a possiblity)
