Are people going for the revision lecs with the institute?
Are they adequate to pass (anyone who attended them before)?
    Are people also getting grinds?

I would imagine that it would very much depend on which subject(s) you're repeating?

I have never done them, but I have heard from people that the revision lectures are useless. A waste of time and just another way for the Institute to suck students dry.

I'd say study the stuff yourself and save the cash.

I went to the management accounting ones in Dublin last year. The guy doing them was Bernard Vallely - he was really good, much better than the people who lecture the regular course. I would definitely recommend that anyone repeating management to go to his lectures.

The answer to that is no - you will need to do a lot of study as well as attending any lectures. These exams are getting tougher and tougher and you really can't afford to leave anything out. Plus, the repeat is probably the last chance your firm will give you to do CAP1s - make sure you do everything you can to get them.

What a nice way to relax somebody before a set of exams.

    Its all true though!

I was wondering that too but from my dealings with the institute already I have no fate in them being of any use.

I am an external candidate sitting them for the first and only time this september. I have no option but to pass. Really better start studying for my 1.5 exams then!
