Kitchen from Poland

Has anyone got a kitchen from Poland?

I've been told that I could save significant sums of money by importing my kitchen from Poland (bar my granite worktop which I will get locally).

I have my design, I know exactly what I want and will get my handles locally.

Has anyone any experience of this? Apparently a friend of a friend has a contact that can organise this, but I'm a little wary.

    Thanks in advance.

The only thing I will say is to state the obvious, Poland is really far away. I am a kitchen designer, and as attentive and careful as I can be, and even taking care of organising the fitting myself, with fitters I trust, I can be assured that every couple of jobs there will be snags. Every week I take care of little snags, the odd dodgy drawer runner, broken hinge, etc etc. Kitchens are made up of a huge amount of components and I think having that after sales service is invaluable piece of mind!
However I can hardly claim to be unbiased! :) But in every experience I have had in kitchens, there have always been snags to be attended to, no matter how good the process.

Thank you Kev. You are articulating my own fears exactly.

But those advocating the Polish route are quite persuasive.

I'm only at the commencement stage at the moment, so I have time to rationalise the issue a bit further.

Sorry Bicycle, I wish I could put your mind at ease. I do know importing works very well for some companies, the likes of Kube do it extremely well, and have great customer service based here in Ireland. But as for just importing it yourself, I feel it could get messy.
But let us know how you get on, if you do go ahead. Would be very interesting to hear about it if it works well!
