I need to stop some steel tubes(a bike) from rusting and I dont want to paint it, would gt7 do a better job?

with wd40 I have to leave a layer of it on the bike, if I rub it in it doesnt protect against rust spots from rain. I dont like having it oily as it gets on my hands then, not so good when Im out and about.

Paint it :p It's the only way to stop the reaction.

Any spray on penitration oil will leave a film of stinky slime on your hands every time you touch the frame.

I have a clear lacquer for metal but didnt apply it properly the last time, was hoping there was another way to protect it. I'll prob wait till I have my other bike ready as I'd need to put on a few coats and let it dry for a day or 2, dont want to be bikeless that long!

forgot to add that its high polish steel, almost at a mirror finish, thats why I dont want to paint it

Rotten gloopy stuff used to fill arch cavities and plaster the underneath of car bodies. It's a load of waxy bits in white spirit or thinners or something, lash it on and the solvent evaporates leaving the other muck there. I wouldn't think it at all suitable for your application, if you don't want it painted you defo don't want waxoyl on it.
