No private operators that I'm aware of.

Single decker busses only in Limk.

Maybe some day there will be a suberban rail service that will serve Moyross, Corbally and Dooradoyle. etc :)

Taxis are more organised in Limerick city, most cab depots have prices of popular destinations on the wall.

I would have though it if they are going to reopen Sixmilebridge then opening a station in Moyross would go along with the regeneration.
It's on the line and ideal place for a commuter service.

Dooradoyle also though that should have been ten years ago when there was a lot of employment in the surrounding areas. As for now? Maybe

    I don't know Corbally.

This is something I like about Limerick. Taxi drivers are friendly and you know the price more or less before you get the taxi.

As soon as they get rid of the scum out of Moyross the better, I have mates living around Cliona and you couldnt get nicer people, Its unfortunate the whole estate is tarred by scumbags. I was passing there the other day on the Ennis train and there was a couple of kids pegging stones at it at the backof the commmunity ctr. they need a good lkick up the ho*le, hidden CCTV might be a good idea,

There are complaints that the city is dying of trade, current thread in P.ie, certainly a decent commuter system leading into the city would help.

For a city without a nightlink, taxis are a way of life, they are so well organised that they operate taxi sharing at depots..

As regards city bus - the most frequent routes are to the three main sides to the city: East/Castletroy-UL, South/Raheen and West/Caherdavin-LIT

Of these, Raheen is most frequent and reliable (though held up at busy times heading outbound on O'Connell Avenue at Punches Cross and held up inbound on Henry Street). It services the Crescent Shopping Centre and Raheen Industrial Estate.

Caherdavin I haven't used much at rush hour, but it seems pretty regular and reliable. It serves Thomond Park and LIT as well as ending about 5-10 mins walk from the Jetland Centre and bowling alley/amusements.

Castletroy, serving the Uni and shopping on Childers Road/Parkway, is reasonably frequent but with any bit of traffic it is a disaster in reliability - it can be held up outbound at William Street, Tipperary Roundabout, Childers Road and Parkway Roundabout. Inbound it can be held up at the Parkway, Childers Road, Dublin Road or Tipperary Roundabout and Top William Street or Patrick/O'Connell St. End result can be gaps in service of over 45 mins at peak time, buses bunched together, severe overcrowding on the single-deck buses, etc. Generally hellish. However, to be honest, apart from avoiding the wait, it can be pretty nasty by car at these times of day too, and you might be waiting a while for a taxi call-out from the city. Lots of shopping on the route too just to make things even more fun. Castletroy is very poorly connected with the city given the Uni with over 10,000 on-campus nevermind the suburban area.

There are other city bus services to for example the Northside as well as other city housing areas.
