    Hi folks,

I am new to all this so any help is totally appreciated.

    Fuzzyhead :)

Could be a number of reasons. If you have just created your ads, they could still be under review.

If not, your bids could be too low, the ads could be disapproved, the keywords you chose may have a low quality score or low search volume.

Impossible to answer without more details I'm afraid. Do you feel like you have everything set up correctly? Do you have a sufficient daily budget? Was Google able to charge your card?

As Vim mentioned, there are a number of potential reasons why the ads might not yet be showing. If you log into your adwords account you can quickly check quite a number of them and see where the 'pinch' might be. If you need any help on how to check some/all of these, mention it here and someone will be happy to walk you through it.

As a very minor aside... in general (obviously not a big deal just to troubleshoot things at the start of a campaign as a 'one off') try to avoid using your own keywords too often to view the ads. If it's done frequently, you'll end up dropping your own CTR with negative effects on your campaign.

Check for your own ads using the ad preview tool:

If your having a hard time listing organically then the chances are you will have a low page quality score which will make it harder to rank well in PPC.

My experience is usually Google will ok your first add pretty fast and then put you in normal approval queues after that. If its a competitive field other ads might just be out preforming yours or you could have some settings wrong on your campaign, bid, budget, devices, geotarget etc.

Here's a quick vid from Hal Varian on the basics of how Adwords decides where to list your ad, if at all.

Whats the URL your advertising and i'll give you some basic improvement pointers.
