I have the average full plastic face mask but cant see through my sights with them. I want to get a pair of goggles wit a ''Neoprene face mask'', which protects your face from the sting of the bb's.....but does any one know if they protect your teeth?

Not really, and they get very sweaty. if you want guarenteed mouth protection with goggles get a mesh lower mask, You can breath easy and teeth will be safe.

Yea people used them but there are a few cons. 1: very hard to talk on the radio with a gum shield also you would need to use 2 gum shields for both upper and lower teeth, which in itself is very annoying also it mean you still get hit in the face which is very sore :) Mesh lower mask does all the above no sweating and very very comfortable :)

You can get the lower face guard and goggles in Quality Airsoft Supplies in Carlow see their thread in the retailers section

Yeah - the mesh lower face masks are the way forward. The neoprene half face mask I bought was used for ... oh ... about half an hour. It just helped to fog up my goggles even worse than usual. The mesh mask doesn't do this - used one a couple of times now and very happy with it.

I think people are more afraid of losing teeth than the pain the bbs cause.

That would be the main worry for the people I play with and my self.

If your going to play without a face mask always wear something to protect your teeth :)

i do the same i use a balaclava with a pair of goggles and my m88. i get hit all the time in the face and mouth but on the whole it doesn't bother me. i bundle the balaclava up and keep it infront of my mouth that way i can reath easy enough and still see my sights. i found with face protection it fogged up my gogles antifog or not. but with just the bally not a problem except the odd big red mark for a day or two. on the tooth thing i normally played in the warehouse andon two seperate occasions i got a full shot to my tooth. unless its very close quarters i don't think much damage would be done. just keep your mouth closed. Don't be grinning like an idiot.

With the mesh lower mask can you see through your sights on the gun?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 988 ✭✭✭evilrobotshane

That depends on the mask, the sights and the gun, but in general because mesh masks are made out of thin metal you can bend them into shape to suit so yes.

Ahh every time I used to use my M88 + Balaclava + Goggles the goggles would fog up so much because there was nowere for my hot hot h/air to escape.

I wear a neoprene face mask around me neck (wait for me to finish) and i pull it up around my face as i enter a CQB situation i cant say i have ever suffered from oxygen deprivation :D ....

i highly recommend the neoprene face mask and a perforated steel set of goggles, good protection, good visibility and very small chance of fogging

you will feel the BB strike through the neoprene but the impact absorption of the neoprene will reduce the BB strike to a BB tickle.....

You can also buy the mesh half face guards and mesh goggles in some retailers in Ireland, if you don't wanna wait for imports.

I have to say the mesh has been my best airsoft purchase to date.

Never fogged up I can see perfectly and I am not sweating buckets :) they are comfortable and can bend to accept the contours of ur face. I have had no issues looking through scopes. but there can be a tiny glare on the lenses from the mesh goggles but that can be resolved by tilting your head another inch lol.

ye granted but if u were wearing it 4 a long period of time the sweat builds up makes it wet it sticks 4 your face and thus makes it harder to breathe.i used 2 skirmish with 1 in Hellfire Wicklow and at sum point during each game ide have to take it off so i cud breathe 4 a few minutes thts y I dnt
