Young couple going to Liverpool - Need accomodation and places to go and do?

    Hi All,

    Sorry to ask a question that has been done to death probably but I have searched and not really found any specific answers...

    Myself and the g/friend are heading to Liverpool next weekend (Irish bank holiday) and I am looking for some tips about the whole place..

    Firstly accomodation, I want to stay somewhere central that is nice and friendly..I have been looking at the Hampton by Hilton in the City...any thoughts or suggestions?

    Secondly, what pubs and clubs are the best for a young couple to head to...would I be right in saying we should head to Matthew st. area? Im not looking for a load of larger louts all over the place, I would like to be able to relax somewhat :)

    Last but not least, can anyone recommend something to do by day, maybe a zoo? not really into museums at all something more interesting...

    Any advice will be greatly appreciated and I will also respond in kind
