    The way series 2 ended off...seems likely that a third series will finish the plot right?

    ye heard about that how did the second season end again?

    There may get a long season out of it but the manga has ended i think a chapter got released a little bit ago.

    I dunno if there's enough manga material for a full third series. Some OVAs would be perfect. It finishes with
    Sasahara becoming a manga editor
    .

    Worth reading the manga for the end if you haven't already.

    TBH I don't think it is very likely. The manga ends soon after the 2nd series of Genshiken and don't think there's really any material for it.
