Worked with it on two relays!!!

Bloomin' hell it's fast, makes going back to conventional method the following weekend very hard work indeed!

(It does make shifts very boring though!)

Do NIR and IE share any track equipment?

Dont know about NIR and IE, I've been out with it in the UK... the kit we've been using is owned and operated by Balfour Beatty.

The track recording car EM50/700 - not even sure if it is still in service.

I have asked on the Boards before does CIE/IE have a viaduct inspection vehicle - you know with telescopic arms for lowering men over the sides of viaducts? The silence to my enquiry does not fill me with confidence - come on, one of you trainspotters must know. :D

why would they need that? they just look at the tracks like they always have done and if they look ok they pass inspection, why would they look under a viaduct? if bits were falling off surely someone would notice and report it just like in malahide?

    AFAIK IE'S maintenance vehicles consist of EM50 #700 recording car,#723 track inspection car,MPV 790(A multi purpose vehicle),751,743,742,739,738-Tampers,Ballast cleaner-780,Regulator 704.

I'm sure i've missed a couple but sadly nothing to dangle lads over the sides of viaducts!:pac:

This is the sort of machine that I would have thought CIE/IE would need considering the many, many viaducts they have to keep any eye on but I'm no engineer. Corballis Viaduct at Rathdrum is one that I'm always happy to get across as it's a long way down to the river.
