    hi
just nearing the end of our build.
we have geothermal and underfloor heatings installed (not turned on yet), the floors are poured and drying now, about 30% dry at the minute.

our tiler mentioned that, the way the floor was poured, without an expansion area near the door, that once the floors heat up, the expansion - contracting of the floor as it heats and cools can cause the floor tiles to crack....

obviously this wouldnt be ideal as we are spending a good bit on the floor tiles.

so im just wondering if any one has any experience of this happening??
    Thanks

When we were putting in the tiles the tiler recommened getting special grout for the floors tiles that was specifically for UFH, I think the grout is expandable or something along those lines - no cracked tiles so far anyways and we are in a year....

thats good to hear, hopefully ours will be ok too.
still letting the floor dry for a few more weeks, and will have heat in it soon, so we are planing to have it as dry as possible before the tiler starts...

    Thanks again.

Snag item to watch out for - at the room edges before skirtings go on .. make sure no "snots" of adhesive or grout remain between the last tile and the wall edge . You could get local pinch points if there is not a continuous opn gap between the "last" tiles and the walls

Any specific advice/info for UFH and tiles in an all glass conservatory? I am looking at a special offer in B&Q (Ok, I know there are others..) only €7.50/sq.m. - too good to be true? says they are ok for conservatory.

    Tnks Barry
