seriously WTF, this is a disgrace, sure weve seen stargate univer 1.5, and will have seen 2.1 before we get to see Cparica 1.5,

are syfy setting this show up to fail or what, there gonna be playing 1.5 when they should be staring season 2, at this rate it would take 8 years to show 4 seasons of it, which is a standard lenght of syfy channel scripted series,

WTF???????....i thought it was coming out October?, Nov. at the latest??....this is an utter joke!, so basically a YEAR has past since the first 9 just NINE episodes were broadcast?

At this rate no one will be even bothered to tune in, pah!

I certainly won't be bothering to watch, but it seems to me that these extended mid-season breaks are just cynical ways to cash in by selling an interim DVD boxset then the "complete" season later :rolleyes:

It's ok to do this kind shizzle when we're talking about shows with a lot of fans such as Battlestar Galactica - people will always come crawling back looking for more no matter the wait.

But honestly, Caprica is not that good. In fact many including myself get the feeling that it's slowly dying and storywise going nowhere. A break such as this is just going to drive fans away.

There is no way that Caprica deserved ANY break after the first half of a single season. But now they have one THIS long? That's sort of embarrasing.

well in fairness its building up to the cylon war, which is suppose to kick-off at the end of the first season, (i know i read that somehwere but cant remeber where) patience people,

i feel like the odd one out here, i actually quiet liked the first half of season 1, the most annoying caracter by far was amanda, but sure i managed to watch baltar for 4 seasons, so i think i can handle her,

I was quite enjoying it but if their plan is to continue to move the series along as slowly as they did in the first season and then take a year long hiatus every 11 episodes then I won't be giving it much more rope.

SGU really built up a head of steam and had a great finish. I'm really looking forward to seeing season 2. Caprica on the other hand, well, I'm struggling to even remember how it finished...

I suppose maybe it's possible that the producers and the studio realised they made a bad call on this one (I remember something to that effect being hinted at in another thread?), so maybe the extended break has been used to "reboot" the show entirely to give us the one we wanted - ie: the kick-off of the first Cylon War and more in tone with BSG rather than 90210??

It's about all that could save it at this stage after this long IMO...

It's certainly possible that there will be a small reboot, but I'd imagine that it was planned from the beginning. BSG also had long breaks, but the show had already established itself for the most part.
The whole panel was very vague at Comic-Con, but they did speak a bit about the events of 1.5 and how it will lead into Season 2.
I hope SyFy continues to give the show a chance, but something has to change in 1.5 to make it worth the wait.

Imagine this for a teaser trailer for when (if) the good stuff ever happens:

*Ad starts with Greystone addressing a crowd of journalists in public about about basic design specs and possbile benefits his new invention could have for mankind. Suddenly a reporter asks "Dr, do you have a name for the robots?". Greystone responds "A Cybernetic Lifeform Node".

Reporter "that isn't very cathcy, is it"?

Greystone: "Well, we are still finalising names for the commercial release but there is one I favour..."

Reporter: " Which is?" interupts the reporter.

Greystone: *As the music turns foreboding and a close up of his eyes suddenly turns to scenes of carnage and mayhem on Caprican streets as robots attack soliders and capture civilians*

That ad would rule.

Another good teaser trailer would be a corny (Fallout 3-style) ad on what a Cylon can do for you and your family (even though they aren't domestic tbf I don't think) and then the camera zooms away from the ad (like Fallout 3) and you see a TV in an apartment with a mother and father desperately trying to evacuate their kids and get out of there. Meanwhile you can hear screams and gunfire on the streets.

Suddenly a Cylon burst thorugh the door and the teaser ends.

Not quite the way I imagined Cylons being created (assuming I interpreted the teaser correctly) but whatever!

Well from what I recall from BSG, didn't the Final Five arrive from the original Earth and teach the Centurions how to evolve/create the skinjobs?

yeah, but I think the official line is that we probably won't have much crossover.

It's just confusing because now it seems as though we are getting centurions with (perhaps) different personalities inside them. These may be different from the regular centurions that will be developed for combat. So, what will be the link between the "special" cylons and the centurions? We already know from BSG that the centurions do have somewhat of a personality and can make choices.
