    does anybody know

i got NCT on this saturday and unfortunately somebody tried to rob my car and both locks /drivers and passangers/ are broken and doesnt work

the key doesnt turn in them
will that be checked at the test???

should i fix it before?? or it might pass as the central lock open and close the doors fine just the key locks are not working

I don't think they check the locks, when you get there leave the key in the ignition.

As long as your key fob central locking works, and the drivers door can be opened from the inside, it is unlikely you will fail.

Same thing happened to me, cars driver door loock was damaged
    after attempted thief.

NCT fella's were sound, said it wasnt a problem. Maybe mention it
to them whenyour dropping the car off for the test.

    Good luck too.

My back right door was dodgy(loud buzzing noise & might or might not lock) heading into the NCT but they didnt say anything if they even noticed. I dont think they check the locks.

If it doesn't pose a danger to the public in anyway it will pass. Door locks won't injure you or anyone else so they won't even check it. However make sure that everything else is in perfect working order.

A malfunctioning light could casue an accident. Eg indicator not working, so someone not knowing you're slowing down to turn and try to overtake just as you turn etc etc

So to answer your question, I don't think they will be checked at the test :D

A tester told me the same thing about dints etc in bodywork. If a part of the car is slighty damaged but not protuding outwards it will not fail. If something is sticking out there is a small chance someone could brush off it if the car is parked roadside and injure their leg etc

The doors have to open and close properly, that's all. Door locks are not tested, only the steering lock.

The NCT manual is on the website.
