If it's for a charity, you need to get a permit from the Garda station. For club/work things, I don't think you need anything.

    The legislation is here: http://www.irishstatutebook.ie/1956/en/act/pub/0002/index.html

If your thinking about running a prize draw in order to sell tickets to pay your mortgage and get rid of your house forget about it, it can't be done and won't work :)

Hmmm, let's try Legal Discussion with this one.

    ouch.. what's wrong with you???

first, a client wants to setup a prize draw website and he is unsure of the rules.

second... I have no mortgage, no house, no debts.. I wasn't going to go down the route the idiots took..

I own land, and live off grid in a mobile home

Nothing at all, merely answering what appears to be a very common question these days :)

As it doesn't apply to yourself thats fine, you didn't include enough information in your first post for anyone to know otherwise :)
