Hi, I had a broken tooth for about 2 years, recently it got very sore so I went to the dentist to get it sorted. He took out the nerve and filled it in, and said it would be uncomfortable for the rest of the day but fine afterwards. That was on Monday, the pain has gone away but I can still 'feel' the tooth. Like when I bite down my teeth are connecting and although it not painful it is strange. Its not like when the other teeth connect, its as if I can feel around the tooth with my gum, hopefully you know what I'm trying to say. I gotta go back on the 17th of August to get the treatment finished, so I guess I'm asking is this 'feeling the tooth' normal and I just wait till the 17th or is it a sign something has gone wrong?

you've had a bit of fiddling about with the tooth, involving washing the tooth out with different stuff to disinfect it. when you need a root canal treatment it's because the nerve dies off and this can affect the ligament that's supporting the tooth in the jaw. this should be settling down now. you probably won't notice anything in a couple of days.

Yeah you were right, I wouldn't even realise anything had been done to that tooth now only for the fact a little bit of the filling has chipped off. Thanks.
