Can anyone recommend a wedding photographer who would be happy to give you all images on a disc for you to do as you please? I'm not talking about a viewing disc here, rather a DVD with hi-res images that I can print wherever I feel like, or not as the case may be. This seems to be unusual, as most photographers I see on the internet do not want you to go elsewhere to purchase your album or print your photos.

Oh yeah, it's for a 2011 wedding in Kerry.

I doubt you're gonna find a photographer who will do that for you, the originals are the property of the photographer so I can't see why he or she would want to give you those. Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt you'd get that dvd of hi-res images.

You shouldn't have any difficulty finding someone to do that. Our photographer was more than willing to give us a disc to do what we wanted with but when we saw his sample album we decided to get him to do the album for us after all. We're getting married in Dublin so probably not much use to you but just wanted to let you know it shouldn't be a problem. You should try the wedding photography thread for someone near you.

Most photographers offer disc packages. Just be sure to check that you are going to get the hi res. Unfortunately Kerry is too far for me to offer my services but why dont you post in the services wanted thread in the photography forum, you should get a few offers there.

Thanks for the replies. My limited research tells me that photographers will give you a viewing disc without any problem, but it's done in such a way that you cannot print from this, or it is made difficult for you to do so. The idea being, that you have to go back to the same person if you want anything printed at any time in the future and I would hope not to be restricted in this way.

This is true with many of the old school photographers. If you do a search for disc only packages you should find some. I give all the high res images to my clients for each wedding.

I got married last year and i opted for the disk only package. I got the disk in a beautiful presentation box and can print as many of the pictures as i want. The photographer will travel anywere and her rates were very reasonable.I paid €700 for the cd package and it had all the photos that were taken on the day. pm me and i will send you on her details.

I'm certain you can get a CD only package of high resolution photos here. Not too far from Kerry either.
