I have an awful dose of it the past couple of days. I can't walk down to the shop without the need to scratch my hole. Hygiene is not the problem how will i cure it. I find i get it after i drink cider but i can't give up drinking because of an itchy arse. any ideas?

How do you know hygiene isn't the problem? Maybe you have arse thrush or something. (or maybe you were bummed in your sleep)

An itchy ring usually is a signal that fecal material or body secretions are irritating nerve endings in the anus. However, the causes are numerous, and finding a specific reason for it can be elusive,.

More than likely, hemorrhoids, pinworms, fissures (cracks in the skin surrounding the anus), anal warts or allergic reactions to toilet paper or foods are responsible for your dilemma. Anal itching also can be caused by a fungal infection, which is particularly common among people with diabetes and can be one of the first signs of the disease. In rare cases, anal itching is a sign of an abscess, polyp or sexually transmitted disease.

Whatever it is, you need to get it sorted!

Try and see the silver lining, you can use this as a chat up line: "My arse it so itchy, would you be interested in licking it better?"

Yeah, see a GP about it. We cannot give medical advice.
