Next Sunday's Would You Believe special on Church child abuse, which is on at 9:30, means that The Mentallist is on at 10:30. Traditionally, WYB follows the Sunday night drama (e.g. ER, The Clinic). Why has RTÉ done this? Does RTÉ not think that we have seen enough coverage of Church child abuse? Excessive coverage of this issue can cause viewers to have "compassion fatigue".

They probably figure that more will see it at the earlier time slot.

In that case, viewers will either change channel or hit the Off button.

That is a choice that they have to make. You might not watch it but it doesn't mean nobody else will watch it.

It is a special report, the normal editions of show are currently off the air. It is a pity that the can't get a better drama to replace ER or The Clinic :(

The Mentallist is a very amusing show. Viewers need an antidote to all the doom and gloom in the news, whether it's the recession or Church child abuse.

You still need a schedule to run either.
