Going Unreg for this. Over the last few weeks my mum has developed a shít attitude and is causing tremenous stress within the household. She starts an argument over the slightest thing, no matter how small and belittles everything. She is even acting this way in front of neighbours and strangers. She is becoming increasingly intrusive into my personal affairs also, to an extend it has become overbearing and strenuous. I wouldn't have a problem only for the fact that I'm 25 and am entitled to some level of privacy in my life.

She is creating an extremely negative household that is even píssing my father and I predict a possible blow up if she doesn't cop on. I have my final year repeats in August and I am struggling at the moment, the last thing I need is further undue stress in my life as I have other issues I need to resolve. I can't cope under these sort of conditions and I need to get away. The only problem is, work is scarce and I can't afford it. I am so desperate to leave that I would clean septic tanks with a toothbrush if it meant I could get away, even worse. I seriously need help, I'm ropes end here and it's driving me insane.

Hi OP. Not wishing to sound rude, but how old is your mother?

Has she exhibited this kind of behaviour before??

    Move out or endure it.

    How old is she?
Is she over the menapause or just starting it?

I was about to suggest menopause too. If it's really unbearable then you can move out, if that's not an option would calling some kind of family meeting to try to get to the bottom of things help? Can you have a word with your Dad, maybe mention that you are worried about your mum being so angry and argumentative all the time?

    Best of luck.
