So, do Ryanair include cancelled flights in their statistics?

A while back I was in Memmingem waiting for a 9pm flight back to Dublin. The flight was delayed by an hour.... then another hour... then another hour. Finally, close to midnight, they tell us that Ryainair have cancelled the flight - and switched off their phones. The next flight out of Germany was 3 days later in Frankfurt (a 4-hour trip).

Their impressive on-time customer service stats exclude cancelled flights, don't they?

There are dozens of Ryanair flights between Germany and Ireland every day.

You are using one flight on one day on the whole Ryanair network to come to the conclusion that they doctor their on-time stats

That makes a whole lot of sense

From Memmingem and nearby, 3 days later was the next available one.

Did you notice a question mark? I just want to know: are cancelled flights included in their customer service statistics.

Public transport in Germany is very good. You could have gotten anywhere in the country within half a day. No need to wait three days for the first flight departing "nearby".

Bear in mind the next flight had to be with Ryanair again, no extra charge.

Of course. If you wanted to get back quickly and did not mind paying extra, you could have gone with Aer Lingus who fly daily from Munich. But Ryanair have daily flights from Weeze for example. That would have been free.

Any idea how much that "extra" would be?

I was in no hurry. In fact I was glad to see more of Germany.

In any case, they re-booked our flight for us at the airport, along with the hundreds of other people stranded at Memmingem.

Anyway, can someone tell me, do Ryanair count cancelled flights in their stats?

Hard to tell how much the "extra" would have been. You would have had to buy a new flight from Aer Lingus at the then-current price. Ryanair, by law, would have been required to refund you the fare, taxes and fees you had paid to them. Also, remember that whether you took Ryanair's offer of an alternative flight or not, you are entitled to compensation. I think it is something around €200.

...what a shower of nitpickers incapable of answering a straightforward question

Try the Aviation forum for a reasonable answer. I would suspect that they don't on the basis that a cancelled flight is not a late one.

Re the original question if a cancelled flight counts in the "late" statistics. Answer: I am not sure.
Random probe on Munich>Dublin one way; booking this evening. 24 hours ahead costs 201 € including ancillary costs. 48 hours ahead costs 171 €.
Train from Memmingen to Munich Airport could cost 20 -30 €. Thus 24 h ahead cost is 221 €.

Weeze Airport is 600 km away. The quickest train journey from Memmingen takes about 8 hours and 6 changes of trains and buses.

    Partial quote.
Below I attempt a probabilistic answer.
Today at Munich Airport I asked a Lufthansa representative this question. In their statistics a cancelled flight does not appear on the list of flights taking off or landing late.

    Lufthansa is not Ryanair.
