How do you think you did overall? Enough for your course?

    Think I got

    English A2
    Irish A2
    OL Maths A1
    French A1
    Economics A1
    Biology B1
    Physics B3
    Latin B2

Which is... 545, well enough for English/History...

I can barely remember any of my papers, let alone how I did on them!

Only 4 weeks or something now!

I did the leaving cert last year, and it's impossible to tell what you're going to get. It depends on examiners and how tough the marking is that year. The marking could be really easy. You just never know until you're handed them.

How the hell can you predict what you got in English???

Done this before, but what the heck...

    Maths A1
    Applied Maths A1
    Accounting A1
    Chemistry A1
    History A1
    English B1
    German B3
    Irish C1

    Points... 585 :)

Would the exams be corrected by now?

Will they release the most failed subject before the results are issued?

To be honest, I am trying to focus my attention away from thinking about the results.

    OL Maths B1
    OL Irish A2
    English C1
    French C1
    ChemistryC1
    Biology B1
    Business A2

    Total 435
That should get me EPL (415) at DCU but law and society (445) is still a possibility.

Potentially this is a bit damaging so I'm not gonna do it!

Sed, dicipulis linguae latinae es; illa lingua te iuvare debet.

For my own part, I couldn't really be sure what I got. I fluctuate between optimism and pessimism but really the only thing any of us can do is wait and try not to get too worked up about it.

Wow your french is good. I'm jealous.

Rather foolish to speculate about your points and grades in public imo. Whether you like it or not, it's presumptious and kinda show-offy. It'd also be awfully embarrassing if you fell significantly short of what you predicted.

Heh, merci. I'm such a pain-in-the-ass show-off...to compensate, there's a mistake in my Latin above that I've only just noticed and am too proud to edit.

I agree with this, it'd look pretty foolish if you fell short and no matter how smart anybody is there are absolutely no guarantees in the Leaving Cert system.

    Don't edit dicipulis - it's a freudian slip...

I'm not too concerned about that. If I don't get what I think I got, I don't get it, whatever. I just gave my honest opinion, and an opinion is just that. I don't see what's wrong with that.

Maybe some people don't really care about what complete strangers on an internet forum think of them? Just a theory.

People should just enjoy their summer!! Thinking about results tends to make you feel worried and stressed. You can think about the results on the 18th of August!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 676 ✭✭✭ayumi

I wasn't too worried and then I had a dream I failed my maths and now I'm so scared. I've got to the point where I both want them straight away and want to never get them ever. I don't know how I'll open the envelope on the day.

    Yep did em all...
...did it to raise funds for our school.

Was secretly hoping to pass them all, but that didn't happen. 25 is pretty good

    Maths - HL - A1
    Applied Maths - HL - A1
    Physics - HL - A1
    Biology - HL - C2
    French - HL - C1
    English - HL - C2
    Irish - OL - D3

I'm 100% certain of Maths, App Maths and Physics.
The rest I'm not so sure.

That puts me at 500, which should be enough for Maths at TCD, right?

    Irish(OL) - C3
    Economics(HL) - C2
    Biology(HL) - C2

    Home Economics(HL) - B2

Even though thats what I reckon I got, its almost sure to be very different.
I did useless in most of em, complete flop. Ah well

Insane that you weren't doing Chemistry... that would've been another A1 for sure... With the right exam strategy u would've gotten 600.

I should've done Chemistry, but I was told Economics was more maths orientated, so I chose that instead, then ended up hating it so gave it up 2 months before the LC.
