Hi, I went for a 1st and second interview with this company, now they want a third, I am stumped ! I can't think of a single thing they would need to ask me as at both interviews I was speaking to them for about an hour.

I have already spoken to the head of the company, so I just don't know what to expect.... Any ideas?

    Thanks :)

Oh just to add, ist and 2nd interview were face to face, but this interview is by phone. Not sure if that makes a difference. Thanks again!

    wow.. that seems excessive.
Maybe they're assessing your telephone manner - different communications medium.
Or maybe something didn't sit well with them from your previous interview and they want clarification on something.
Or maybe they're ready to offer you the job and this interview is more to discuss some finer details of the contract before they commit to offering you the job (however, they really shouldn't be discussing these details before offering you the job)
They could be down to two candidates and this is the only way they can decided who to offer the job to :O

I have no idea.. most interviews I ever had was 2.
    Best of luck either way

3 is a lot. What type of role is it, and in what industry?

Hi, it is in the media industry, the role would be on the production side of things. my main issue is I just have no clue what they can ask me..also I have totally run out of questions to ask about the company cos they really answered almost everything for me !

    I just don't know

My trusty old reliable is, "Is there much scope for advancing within the company? I hope to develop the skills and experience to progress".

    Never fails!

Thanks Magenta, already asked it! ..then again maybe they won't remember that I did...hmmm what the hell my mind is a blank !

There really should be a two interview limit for every job , I'm all talked out I can't talk no more , if I don't get the job Ill send them an email suggesting they take the two interview limit road in future

Do you know how many people are getting this "phone interview?"

Is there a possibility its a job offer in disguise?

They wouldn't tell you to expect a call from X to offer you the job. So possibly a few more questions and then they might possibly say "ok, we are interested in offering you the position......................................."

I have been told a few times in the past that I am having a 2nd/3rd interview and it was actually a job offer.

I had an a first and second round interview recently and at the end of the second interview I was told to expect a third round. They rang me yesterday and said they had a couple of questions and after answering them they offered me the job! I don't want to get your hopes up but maybe the posters above are right about it being a job offer in disguise?

Alternatively could you contact the company and ask what topics the interview will cover?

What questions did they ask you in the third round? ya hopefully it is a job offer !

I know someone who is on round 8 of interviews; its for a job paying well over €100k but she told she feels like she is on the apprentice. Its crazy what some companies are putting people through. I think the very worst is a peer interview; I can't imagine getting interviewed by the people you are going to be working with.

8 Interviews! my body could not cope with that stress! I have been stressed about all these interviews for a week now, I can't sell myself anymore !

I feel the same about the peer pressure Lux23. I find it humiliating in a way that you have to say all the nonsense stuff to get you the job and then if you get it have them know you said "I am a punctual diligent worker " lol and the rest of it

Just had the third round, incase it might be useful to anyone, they basically asked me if I had an issues or questions from the previous interviews or about the company, so I sorta took over and asked loads of questions ... don't know if that was good idea or bad idea, seemed to go well!

It is down to me and two others and then they asked the horrible "tell us why we should choose you" question.

They also asked what pay I would expect, when is the earliest I could start and that was pretty much it, was just a chat really.

So I will know today if I got, eep! who knows, just glad interview process is over !

That's ridiculous. How do companies expect you to get the time off work to go to them? I mean, it's not like they're all going to be in the one day, you could be asking for time off for them over and over for weeks!

Is it a HR interview? Might be the final step.... first couple were hiring managers and staff etc.. final one is HR to ensure you tick all the correct legal (non looney) boxes ;)

nm - missed your last post. :)
