This is a repeat (well it is RTE and the summer isn't it) but it is so so so good.

It is about a Nat. Geographic photographer who shot pics in Ireland in 1969 and returns now to meet the people he shot and retake photos.

    It's a really lovely story/program.

    I'd seriously recommend it!

    Hi,

Can anyone here claim to know all of the music on that Program, Summer of '69?
There's one track in particular, I thought it could have been Glen Campbell maybe, but it seems I was wrong. Its a slow airy number, with some lad singing about a woman he loves. There's strings + brushes in it as far as I remember....I'll try to describe it a bit better once I've heard it again (sorry)

Any help greatly appreciated - it's a fantastic number I remember from my radio-only youth, that I never checked out until I heard it again.

    Thanks guys!

And yes it is a really great program, I'm watching it now!!

"knights in white satin......" etc. etc. it plays when the young woman from the Aran Islands is met in Dublin again, at the end of the show.....

If it's that one, it's actually called Nights in White Satin-it's by the Moody Blues.

    Thanks Cailineile13!!

I'm listening to it now. It's a really beautiful tune. A classic IMO.
I'm reading all the comments on the song - harmonious praise!

    Yes well done RTE.

This was my second time watching it and still enjoyed it hugely.

Some of the countryside shots were amazing and the people he met along the journey very interesting.

Its type of the programme i could never tire of watching :)

I loved the story of the Arklow pottery worker receiving the letter from someone in America (Ohio, maybe?) with the same name who read the National Geographic article. They continued to correspond for years.
