hey all,
new to this,so hello to start with. ive got a 07 1.8 galaxy with 68km on it. bought it in may09,about a month after, a knocking came in the steering when turning left and gettin on the power. brought it back to the garage they changed some filters in the power steering pump, got it back same story. then around april when i turned the wheel the power steering went was like driving with flat tyers, not good. brought it back they had it for 3 weeks changed the steering rack, the power steering pump and all the hydralic hoses. got the car back all was well for 2 weeks, now the knocking is back, got to bring it back monday.
anyone got any ideas or ever hear of this before?

A friends brother had same issue with a 08 galaxy that he imported from UK - was covered under warranty no problems and was supposedly a known issue with the galaxy. They had to replace the whole steering system - don't ask me technical as I just know how to drive them and put petrol... Eh diesel in them;)

If by any chance you imported it then it would have 3 year warranty on it but here 2 years. Have a look around a few UK forums and see if anyone reporting similar issue there and push your case.

Hi there

I have an 07 Ford S Max and have brought it to my local garage with a noise when revving as going through the lower gears. Has 82k kilometres.
Told that I need to replace the Power Steering Pump. Part costs €411.
Got a second hand one from a dismantlers. Hoping it fixes it but defenitely appears to be a problem with the Ford's. Garage told me they had to replace the whole rack on an 08 Focus too.

mine was done under warrenty thank god.
total cost would have been 2500 euro!
god knows whats wrong now
