I know she's been around since God was a boy but I've recently developed a bit of an addiction to this show..
Anyone else here love her no sh1t approach to things?

I've always wondered.. Do people know they're going up in front of her before their case comes up? Do they have a choice wheather they are filmed and televised? Is Burd really a cop or an actor?

    So many questions :D

    Anyone?????

There seems to be a link on it to submit your case if you'd like JJ to oversee it:eek:
Why you'd want to tho' is a mystery unless your camera hungry:D

I always assumed the people got paid.

Judge Judy is one of those things that I'll watch if I happen to fall across it.

Sometimes I think she's spot on but other times I find her unnecessarily dismissive, like she takes a dislike to someone and will rule against them regardless.

I'm pretty sure the people don't get paid to appear as it operates as genuine court as far as I know. It could be a case of people getting seen a bit quicker than a conventional court if the producers deem it good viewing.

Personally I think she's a sell out who must have absolutely zero credibility among her peers.

It is not a real court. It is a binding arbitration. The parties agree to accept her ruling.
Both parties are paid regardless of the ruling. The cases are selected from the small claims courts from across the country. If a producer thinks a case is going to be interesting they contact the parties to see if they would accept it being decided by Judge Judy.

I love Judge Judy, I always watch it on the rare occasions I get home from work early enough to do so. She's always spot on.

I always find it amazing that some people genuinely think that they have a case against someone or think they'll get away with whatever they're trying to get away it. And to do so on (inter)national TV is just nuts.

Was watching it one day on TV3 and it was a bout a girl that was attacked by some other girls. It was a two part show but TV3 in their infinite wisdom decided not to show the concluding part in the next episode that was on straight after the first one.
