Brick and Mortar Stores?

Hey guys. This forum has popped up at a convenient time for me as I have become crazy about boardgames recently.

However a lot of games Im after online can get quite pricey if heavy due to shipping and I was wondering are there any specialist shops around that sell games beyond Monopoly Cluedo and Buckaroo?

I live in Meath so Dublin is but an hour on the bus but searching online hasn't produced anything but games workshop (which I still have a half painted imperial army I will likely never finish) or kids toy shops.

Yeah, there's a good games shop on Jervis St. Called Gamers World. A reasonable selection, about 2/3 miniatures and 1/3 board and card games. Board games vary from the Carcassonne range to Ticket to Ride to Power Station and so on and so forth. I believe they do mail order aswell...

I've also seen some games in the comic-type shops, one just off George's St for example, though those are mostly the games with movie/comic tie-ins.

The Toymaster on the corner of Henry Street and Jervis Street actually has a surprisingly good stock of board games upstairs too.

Anything in particular you are looking for?

Nothing in particular really. I'd like to try Twilight Imperium. Also some expansions for small world or LNOE as shipping can add a chunk to cheaper games.

Im on the way up to Dublin for the Carlsberg Comedy festival this weekend and will pop down to them all for a look!

Sub City, on Exchequer Street (which is off George's St.) has a good range of boardgames down the back.

I found TI3 quite hard to get my hands on a couple of years ago. A buddy of mine ended up picking it up for me in the UK. (Make sure to get the expansion too btw)

Try Gamers World on Jervis St Dublin, as suggested above? He'll do mail order too, according to his website.

Thanks but it's still down! Do you know if they stock Dominion and if so, how much it is there? Thanks.

They do stock Dominion - don't know how much it cost for sure, but I seem to remember it was approx €40, but please don't decide not to buy it there on that basis!

    Try phoning/emailing them?
