Iv a problem with my machine. About a week ago it start giving intermittent problems. Flashing lights, not starting the program etc. I would reset it and it would sort itself out. Now its consistently the same problem...

I hit start and the machine starts to work as if away is if no problem. The wash light does not come on and it just spins slowly left then slowly right over and over again. Its now the only thing it does and will not reset.

I had an engineer out a year and a half ago so i am reluctant to do it again as its a 100euro a call out. Really want to just sort it myself. Any experts out there? Does it sound like the PCB board?

Have the same problem today with my WF541P washing machine!
Flashing lights all over the place :-(

Did a search and found a few threads on diynoy.com
    http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1175026#1175026
There is a link to a company in the UK that sells the boards exchange for 49 pounds. I emailed them to see if they ship to Ireland.

Just took mine out this evening to see if I have the mark 4 or 8 version.
Found one of the big caps (C17) on the board busted as described in this tread http://www.diynot.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1409805#1409805

Would be great if this was my problem! Now all I have to do is find a 680uF 10V capacitor!

If you are handy yourself might be worth the trouble to have a look at your board ;-)

Just to update. I replace the cap with one I salvaged for a broken VCR player and washing machine now working away.

    Very happy camper :-)

P.S. Also got reply from www.emwelec.co.uk that they would ship to Ireland for £5+vat

    --- You will need 3 hrs :)
a star headed screwdriver, and a cushion - your gona be on your knees a while :) better off buying one of those multi head screwdriver jobs.

There are two filters in the machine. One is located under the drum, its a black rubber conveluted house, thats wide at the top and narrows - can fit a snooker ball in it.

The other is at the top - you need to take the lid off to access this one. Whip off two screws at the back and then the top will slide back. The filter here is a large metal casing. Its most likly filled with lint and other gack - so will need to be opened up and cleaned.

Unscrew the 5 screws holding it to the drum, so now you can access the 7 screws that keep it closed. Unscrew them, open it up and clean the fan. (sorry I dont have photos)

Ok - the filter under the drum, the black hose - well thats the machiones piggy bank. I am a mind reader and there is 1 euro 26 cents in your machine and 2 hair bobbins and 1 clip :) empty it.

Now at this point its worth checking to see if you have anything that made it passed the filter and into the pump. So the pump is located at the end of the rubber hose, in my case I had a plastic clip connecting it to the pump - it was a bitch to open, but worth it. There was a rubber band rapped around the impelller. Your call, extra 20 mins at this point to check - or clean the filter reconnect put it back together and then if it doesnt work spend 40 mins checking impeller.

At this point you should have cleaned the top filter, the bottom filter. Now one last thing to do - is to check the air switch, basically it checks pressure differential that tells the machine it can go into tumble drier mode etc etc... there could be gack in the hose... the air switch is connected to the back of the powder filler box. Theres a clear hose - separate it and blow down it. Its a clear hose... so look at make sure nothings in it. It connects to the white piece of plastci that off shoots from the filter in the drum. Blow into the switch making sure its not locked open/closed - your attempting to reset it.

Now doing all this should get you back to normal... I'm with you guys a call out on what I have established to be a piece of crud engineering is best spent towards a better device - but we are were we are. So make sure you try all these steps before you call someone.

And dont be afraid to do it.

tips : Obviously have the machine plugged out.
--- When you disconnect the filter under the drum it might be full of water - so have plenty of towels ready.

    Best of luck
