Wedding outfit dilemma..

    Hey everyone :)
I have a wedding on the 14th of August. I've bought a dress thats exactly in my budget but there's two little problems worrying me.
    1. Is it age appropriate? My friend mentioned in passing that her sisters had a dress similar, there 12 I'm 26. I don't want to look like I'm dressing too young or something
    2. Is there too much white? I don't want to offend the bride either :(

If it is ok, I was thinking of putting it with a nice cardigan, shoes and bag matching the pink of the flower in the skirt :)

Any opinions/advice would be great :D Thanks in advance :)
Here's the pic of the dress :)

It does look a bit casual for a wedding, if just going to the afters Id say its grand. Do you have something to wear over the top of it like a shawl for the church part?

That looks quite casual for a wedding. The skirt is lovely, but the jersey portion of the top is too casual.

It reminds me too much of the back-combed hair girls in Dundrum (sorry :()

Hey, thanks for the reply :)

Thats when I was thinking the cardi/belero would come in handy but I suppose they'd casual it down even more.. What would you think would be more dressy for the occasion? Would a maxi dress be better? Sorry for all questions its just its been like 15yrs since my last wedding and my outfit was my ma's concern not mine ha ha :D

Dya know what..ive been to soo many weddings at this stage i honest to god dont think anyone really cares what anyone wears. I was a guest at one in April, where there was mega short dresses, all white dresses, maxis and flats.I was bridesmaid at one 2 weeks ago and couldnt have told ye what anyone wore.

Im fed up worrying whats appropriate anymore (ive just bought a practically all white with a bit of black on it) dress* for a wedding on friday and am not one bit concerned if its goin to offend the bride,if its too dressy/not dressy enough. People look at ya for about 2 mins and thats it. If ye like it...wear it!

*not a sign of any cream pencil skirts Twee

I would agree it is a little casual for a wedding. The top of it looks like it would be very low cut and it looks to be quite short. You know the old adage about not showing boobs and legs at the same time! Anniehoo is right in one sense in that you should wear what you feel comfortable in and not worry what others think, though I suspect that it's hard to feel comfortable in a dress if you're not 100% happy with it.

I think a maxi dress would be perfect and unless it's very beachy, then I don't think it would be too casual.

i think the same that it is a little too casual. The skirt is pretty but the top of the dress is what makes it casual.
Im going to a wedding myself in Sept and also trying to pick what to wear. Posters on here have suggested littlewoods for me and from the quick look on the site i just had there, it seems to have an array of dresses at every budget.

Not at all too casual, I don't think.
Once you add heels, jewellery and do your make-up/hair well then you'll be grand.
And I don't think 26 is too old for that.
Infact I've seen lots of women wearing that and they've all been mid twenties.
Although, if you're unsure yourself then don't go ahead, you don't want to feel uncomfortable all day.

I think it's a bit casual too - I could imagine someone wearing it at a BBQ or any casual night out. It is nice but I don't think it's dressy enough for a wedding.

Thanks a million for all the feedback its been a huge help :D.. I think I will keep the dress because I'm going to Mama Mia next weekend in Cork so it'll do nicely for that :p but I'm still on the look out for the perfect dress to wear to the wedding  I think I'm gonna go down the maxi dress route cos there everywhere at the minute so there's loads to choose from :) Thanks again to everyone for all the help and for those of you looking for dresses too happy shopping :pac:
