Hi all, anyone got a good spot for some wild camping anywhere in the country considered. Want to put some camp crafs into practice, shelter making and such?
    Thanks

i too am looking for a suitble location for a spot of wild camping away from restricted areas such as the parks and also camping parks. somewhere sucluded would be great anybody with any ideas around wicklow. preferably away from the national park as they have a strict law against camp fires. just want to get out and put some skills to practice

i camped up over the spink in glendalough some years ago. its really nice up there. i walked the spink and after all the view points of the old mines i took a left of the trail and found a nice place nesseled away between a braek in the trees. it was a mild november when i wentup and made for a good camp area. i also camped further on another time on the wicklow way around by lugduff. didn't bother with a tent just my hammock and some odds and ends. great experience.

I think i'm going to try another area this year maybe around lough dan i pulled out the map last night and have a half plan in mind. check out google earth and click on the blue icons they have some nice pics of good camping grounds also plenty of forest to explore and the lake for a spot of fishing all you need for a two day break from civilisation. and in emergencies its only a few miles from roundwood.
