Feet on Fire

    Hi Guys,

I play soccer, we are currently in Pre Season Training which involves a lot of running. Football Boots and Hard Ground are not a great combo, when I come off the training pitch my feet are literaly on fire and getting a lot of blisters etc!!!

It is something that has always been seen as a bit of an occupational hazzard. I know runners/athletes would us much better footwear than footballers to mimimise the effects on your feet.
But, I was wondering though as you guys would cover a lot of miles running what do you do to treat similar conditions should you suffer them? Any trade secrets, I've contemplated steeping my feet in a basin of ice cold water to see if that helps???

Any advise you could give would be appreciated?

    Thanks

I wear a second light pair of socks inside my football socks, stops any slipping around in the boot.

Insoles. Or "othotics" as they're called now.

There should be some available to cure your issues, extra shock padding in the heel is a common need. Try a shop specialising in running.

Holy ****! Stop, drop and roll!

On a more helpful and less annoying note, do you wear cotton socks by any chance? Cotton socks are the devil!

Talcum powder in your sock keeps things dry and helps prevent blister formation.
