I assume the engine is diesel, then if so its the same 2.3 diesel engine as fitted to the ford sierra if thats any help.

But Your best bet is this lad

    http://car-breakers.blogspot.com/

he is based in kildare & has 1,000 of cars from the 1960's to 1990's so would be well worth a shout.

If you are still having trouble in locating a filter housing, then you can get a remote oil filter housing which will do the job perfectly. I have used one in a mini rally car for a number of years with no problems. Mocal is probably the best known brand who manufacture these just but just make sure to get one with the correct flow direction as various types are available e.g left to right flow, right to left flow, left in and out flow & various other scenarios. They generally take a ford spin on oil filter. www.demon-tweeks.co.uk supply them as would any decent motorsport shop like murray motorsport in dublin or ears motorsport in mallow co. cork.

Sorry can't help so far other than it'd either a Pug / Indenor XD90 or XD2 engine. XD series engines were fairly common prior to XUDs.

Did they not stick it in a Leyland DAF at some point too?

ya they did but its not the same one.so if its the same in the ford van then thats that out the window.

it would be a delicate enough but there must be a precision engineering place somewhere in cork , a guy that welds trailers wouldnt be able to do it , it has to be tig welded

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,061 ✭✭✭damagegt

I know.My father (the guy whos looking for the part) was a welder for 15 years and hes brought it to specialist and they have all told him its to thin and will just break again

were looking internationaly already .We were told by some of the main scrap yards that that model car was sent to country's such as china and Argentina and reconditioned and was still been used well in the the late 90,s so hopefully some one has to be doing parts there.

These are available in France, the obvious place. My sister got one for her motorhome on her way through there only a few weeks ago.
I presume that it is the engine where the filter sits upside down on the top of the engine.
