Any reason why my iPhone 3G should be dropping signal?

    Afternoon all.

For the last few weeks, my iPhone has been intermittently dropping signal...very bloody annoying! Usually a restart sorts it. I thought it could've been a software thing, so I upgraded to 4.0.1 last night, but it's still the same.
Around the same time it started dropping the signal, my earpiece stopped working. Could they be linked?

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like you're not holding it properly :P

    Try holding it differently
