Ford Ka - Battery changed and now car will not move!

The car starts no problem, I release the handbrake, there are no warning lights on and when I try to drive off it is like the handbrake is still on. The car dips on the spot! Am I going mental? there is nothing in the manual, the car starts so its not the immobiliser! Anyone any ideas?

Sounds like the brakes are binding. Has the car been sitting for a while?

It was sitting for a while, but I drove it on Thursday last week.

Anyway to fix it, or do I just have to keep trying it to move it?

If the car dips then it has to be stuck brakes. Keep putting the car into first and reverse and rock the car. Don't be afraid to be a bit harsh.
