I reinstalled XP on to my system and when I was doing so I must of set Irish as the language of choice and I'm after installing Gimp but that's in Irish and my Irish isn't the best, is there an easy fix to change to English.

Windows seems fine in and is in English

    Thanks

Oh, and whats desktop in Irish?

according to Google translate it's deisce! Don't take my work for it though.

if you go to control panel > region and language, have a look around, you should find some options for the system locale. Make sure that's on English. If not, change it, reboot and see how it goes! I'm not sure about Gimp though, does it have it's own language packs?

If you set the language in the regional and language options as Irish (Ireland), then programs and websites with an Irish language version will use it. To verify this, hover over the clock on the taskbar. If the date pops up in Irish then that's your problem. Set it to English (Ireland) instead.

Note that you may need the disc to get the language files (I had to do this when I wanted to install Japanese, but I don't know if it will apply to English (Ireland)
