Coil Pack

    Hi Guys

Have trouble with a 99 corsaB 1L ... Broke down recently and the guy who came to tow me spend a little bit of time looking at it, he said the coil packs are gone

It drives fine but after sometimes a day, a week it cuts out. Check engine light comes on. If you were to leave it sit for a few hours and come back it'd drive fine again for a bit then .... dead.....

Is it easy to replace coil packs or would a mechanic be required. Dont feel too keen on going to opel direct as they got enough money off me!!! I also dont want to put huge money into a 99 car

Or does anyone know of or can recommend a mechanic that can replace the pack? I could supply the parts! Live in south Dublin BTW!!!

    Thanks guys

Its an easy job, just unplug connector on end and lift the pack off the plugs and replace and plug in again.

simple enough job , replaced mine on a 02 astra, take plastic cover off engine, around 6 screws holding it on, you will then need a long star headed screw driver to remove coil pack . coil pack costs around 80 euro i think

The symptoms do not indicate coil pack but more likely Crank Position sensor,
this is a common one on this car, usually leaves a faultcode in the ECU
get it scanned before you buy any parts
