Hey i cant seem to get a straight answer anywhere else online so here i am.

I'm taking a car off a friends hands coz hes leaving the country.

He's given me the car with no vehicle licensing certificate but he has provided a vehicle registration certificate (which has the details of the first owner of the car) and a partially filled out RF 200.
(i'm sceptical that the RF 200 is the right form because its a 1999 car and it clearly says on the top of the form "For vehicles registered before 1/1/93")

I want to insure the car as soon as possible under my name but can i do this without the vehicle licensing certificate?

Also some websites mention that all i need is the RF 101.
Is the RF 101 and the vehicle licensing certificate the same form? I've looked for an example of the form but cant find one anywhere.

You will need the RF101 (which is the VLC afair)

The registered owner can request a replacement, the forms have to be signed by a garda afaik and it costs 12 euro.

A replacement VRC took only a few working days when my sister had to get one recently.
