My PS3 died (old style 40 GB) last week so I bought a new one (Slim 120GB) so my questions are:
    1. I was not able to deactivate my old PS3 account as it died suddenly, is there anyway I can swap it over to the new PS3 via the internet or will I have to create a new account on the new PS3?
    2. I have some pictures on my old PS3 that I really want to keep, is it easy to hook up the old PS3 HHD to the new PS3 or a PC?
    3. What about the games I bought \ downloaded that are on my old PS3? Can I copy these across to the new PS3? I presume if I have to set up a new account I will lose these?
Thanks for any info guys! :D

Go on to http://ie.playstation.com/ sign in and go to accounts to deactivate the old ps3.

Just sign in to you old/current account on the new ps3, you'll be able to re-download the contents from PSN, if you do set up a new account you'll loose them but there is no need for that just use the current PSN account.

You can't use you old HDD as it's encrypted and not a standard file system, a pc won't know what to do with it. If the 40GB PS3 is really ruined try fixing it and back up the pictures off it, you'll find a lot of guides on how to do it.
