Not 100% if this is the right category, but anyway...

I want to set up a Post Office Box and have a few questions...

Which post offices in Dublin have the post office box service?
Which is the closest to the Ballsbridge/Donnybrook area?
How can I acquire a post office box?
What if a parcel you order to be delivered to your post office box arrives whilst you are away? Can you pick it up a couple of weeks later?
    Anything else I should know?

    Thank you. ;)

Are you going to be doing business with it? because if you are just in the process of moving house or something you can just get stuff delivered to the postoffice with your name on it. Just go down and ask them to make sure but I got stuff sent to 3 different post offices over the years.

You tell the sender to address it to

    rubadub
    c/o post office
    fake street
    co dublin

Then I went down at the weekends and got whatever was waiting for me, just bring ID to prove it is you, or if it was important I would ring them and check. But if there was loads of stuff coming in they might get bothered and tell you to get a PO box.

College post offices are especially used to people doing this.

PO Boxes are usually provided at the local sorting office rather than the post offices themselves. All mail / parcels are held there unless you have specified and paid for a mail forwarding service.

anyone else know of any cheap options? for those of us who expect to have next to no post but would like an address unrelated to our home address all the same.

    thanks

cheapest will be about €25 a month.

The an post pricing is confusing - the january price is for the year to December, the february price is for the 11 months to december etc etc.

Try these guys too https://www.dublinmaildrop.com/maildrop.html €245 / year including forwarding mail to you.

For other alternatives key in "virtual address dublin" into google
