I know it sounds great at first, but that place is actually awful (and I dont have particularly high standards to be totally honest!!!)! I ate at the chinese buffet in dundrum though and that that was good, but more expensive but worth it because the food in santry is just awful. Really poor selection, left lying around, not great staff etc.

I've also heard from a few people that this place is pretty dire

Its called chief changs.... It's not great.. I'm going to put my Fitness Posts reputation on the line here but here we go

Ratings and value for all you can eat Chinese!

    1) Jimmy Chungs- 8:90 lunch special 16 Euro Dinner Special- QUALITY FOOD! Lunch special is incredible value.. Evening.. a bit steep but it includes ice cream and cake

    2) Jung Fu Pavilions Swords, I think its 9:90.. Food not so good

    3) Chief Changs Stephens green and Omni..OP put up price.. Food in Omni was better than Stephens green..

There is one opening in the Best Western Acandemy Plaza.. They alreasy have a restaurant so you would expect the Buffet to be good..

Good Value it seems I think it only opend Thurs!

Went to the dundrum one before the flicks the other evening. Not bad, not high quality cuisine, but pretty ok. They have stuff you rarely see on all you can eats, pork yuk sung, aromatic duck etc. Would go back I'd say.

Have yet to check out the legend that is Jimmy Chung :pac:

This may be a bit far out for some but there's a place called Jades Palace in Applewood Village in Swords.

8E for all you can eat and it's never very busy so you can sit down without a booking.

That Full House place gets cheaper as the evening goes on, at least it was cheaper after I came out of a gig in the Academy than before I went in.

The best one I've chowed down in is Kung Fu in Phibsboro - € 9.90 odd - nice staff and food refreshed regularly up to about 8pm. They heve proper chinese grape juice too. Only thing is I have to be rolled out the door when I finally admit defeat....:D

I worked there a couple of years ago for 3 months. What I have to stress though is that alot of open buffets serve the same crap, with the quality of the food depending only on who supplies the cheapest ingredients.

Walked up to it once and could barely see inside because of how dirty the windows were.
    Turned on my heal.

Starters are great, main courses are decent (portion size a bit small).

I usually just order a load of starters. Their honey shredded chicken is great!

why would portion sizes come into affect if its all you can eat ?

Another good spot for a all you can eat is, Abacus Oriental Buffet, Best Western Premier Academy Plaza Hotel, Dublin 1

The food is fantastic Lunch is €7.90 and dinner is €9.90, I have eaten there about 5 times in the last month and have had the most amazing food, Love the Cantonese style sweet and sour yummy.

My kids love the Chicken and Sweetcorn Soup, and the Smoked Chicken in batter :) and a side of ribs :)

Went to that place on Abbey Street on Friday for lunch (also can't think of the name) and it was awful, everything was just one gloopy mess, yuck. The one in Phibsboro is really nice though.

THE ONE IN PHIBSBORO .. I wouldn't recommend a dog too go in. Vile everything. My friends were passing by and thought for 9.50 its good value we thought drinks go with it but thats separate cans are 1.40. Anyway everything we tried was chewy, hard, stale or just a complete turn off. Even the prawn crackers the things i love the most were stale and ROCK HARD!! And while we where sitting down we seen a homeless person walking in and grabbing the open food and running back out.. This happened about 3 times while we where sitting there. And the chinese people that where working there were playing cards and didn't even notice. I also seen another person test all the foods and walk away no plate nothing!! Waste of money you'd eat better out of a trash can and thats being honest!! Imagine the next set of people coming in and getting chicken balls after that homeless persons hands being everywhere on them?? ughhhhhhh!!!!!
