if u want posters from old films just do a search online but a free way to get cenima posters for modern films is when there just finishing up playing the film in the cenima ask the people at ur local place, they should be happy to give u them id say they have a few copies of each anyway, my bro got a few posters for me from the cenima there last month, it was very nice of him but i dont think he knew i hate most films made in the last number of years and would rather put a severd head on my wall than the poster for the remake of nightmare on elm street or some suck ass movie thats out nowadays, anyways happy hunting:)

There is a shop on Molesworth Street in Dublin that sells old movie, travel and advertising posters.

They might be interested, although only if you have old/rare ones.

    Here's their website:

Hey they are all actual double sided cinema posters so standard size i think. Id like to try sell a few at a time to many to get into ones and twos.

I don't have a major problem with general discussion of the lot on here, but any monetary transactions or dealings will have to be taken to PM or preferably adverts as you say :)

Just had a quick look at your collection. There's some if original & in good condition are reasonably valuable. I'm assuming they're quad (landscape) which makes them less valuable than onesheet (portrait).

Ultimately they're only worth what someone is willing to pay, but the older ones, science faction & what are no regarded as "classic" should get you no less than €15 per poster (printed both sides).

The star Wars re-issues would be worth the same as the newer triology for example. I sold an original Star Wars fifteen years ago for ST£450 (& original Alien for ST £290) at auction & I think the buyers got a bargain, but then, I got a holiday out of it, so everyone was happy.

Some of them though aren't worth the paper they're printed on - Parole Officer, Honeymooners etc.

You should offer them on the thedvdforums.co.uk also, those guys go nuts for these things.

    Go luck selling

Thanks for the info yes there mostly landscape a few are portrait only the star wars phantom menace one were anakin is walking and his shadow is dart vader springs to mind. There mostly in good condition they are rolled though. I was thinking even at 5-10 euro a poster as a lot they add up to a fair bit. Trying to find somewere to take a bulk lot is the issue not a big market in ireland.

Sorry to dig up an old thread but my parents just found a big (6' by 4') rollout canvas cinema poster for Veronica Guerin (2003).

Just wondering is there a market for this type of thing?
