    Hi All

I am looking for a dress for a wedding in September but im trying to avoid the usual "wedding outfit shops" like coast, karen millen, monsoon etc.
The reason im avoiding them is that the wedding is quite big (over 200 guests) & I afraid that I will end up with the same dress as another guest (& them looking better than me!!:))

Does any one have any ideas where I could get a dress?
My budget is the about €200/250.

    thanks all!

I got a fab dress for a wedding in Fran & Jane. There are some lovely dresses on littlewoods website too.

Other than that, I'd recommend trying out some local boutiques for something different. There are some really nice ones in Carlow, Kilkenny, Naas & Ennis that I know of, but I'm sure there are others in towns all over the country that'd be worth a try!

I would second both Fran and Jane and Littlewoods. Littlewoods is especially reasonable.

    Tk Maxx

And for a lot less than €200/250

Try Ted Baker in Dublin or even better in Kildare village. Also LK Bennet in Kildare village usually has lovely dresses. I often think the best thing to do in these situation is brave it and buy a dress from Dunnes or H&M or the like- as ironic as it sounds, there's probably less chance of you wearing the same thing as someone else compared to buying a dress in Monsoon etc

    Thats everyone for the ideas!
I think i will have a look at fran and jane (didnt think of them) & some of the other boutiques around to see if they have anything suitable & reasonablly priced to wear.

This dress has got me the most compliments at a wedding and it's a bargain! No idea why I ended up in the store the day I was shopping, but glad I did now! :D

You should try ASOS.com too, they have loads of dresses, well within your budget. A couple of years ago I bought a dress on there and I wore it to a wedding, it only cost me €20 but everyone admired it on me at the time. It didn't look €20 but I think if you put the right shoes and accessories with a dress you can really make it sparkle. Sometimes spending more does not equal a nicer dress.

I'm not a complete cheapskate though, I bought a dress for a wedding in debenhams as well for approx €150, they have a good selection there too although there is the chance that someone else could purchase the same dress.

Anyway best of luck with the hunt!

photographed a wedding last week, one of the girls was wearing a lovely blue off the shoulder dress, everyone commented on it and couldnt believe it was Littlewoods. Definitely the nicest guest dress there.

    Hey,

There is a Designer dress rental shop opening on the 9th of August in Limerick. Their dresses are AMAZING and you definately will not see anyone else wearing the same dress at the wedding. They have a faceook page called the ivory closet and it has most of their stock up on it. Prices range from 50-250 euro for a three day rental of the dresses!! It will be worth the trip down to see the store when they open!!

    Hope this helps!:)

    woah!

What times does your shop open?

    Hey Cork Girl,

It is not my shop! I live in Limerick and have heard so many people talking about hiring their dresses when they open! Cant wait to see their stuff! Limerick is so bad for nice dresses!
