need to replace the rear gear cable on my commuter/hybrid.

What do I need? these, wire cutters, grease and a screwdriver for the shifters (and a deal of patience!)?

Any other tools required before I order? All the guides I find seem to talk about either gripshift or high end stuff (I only have crappy Shimano Alivio),

    cheers,,

That's about it alright! I'd get new inner and outer gear cable to make things easier (just cut the new outer to match the old) and simply follow the path the old cable took (so don't just whip it all off, then get your new bits out :) )

A 5mm allen key or a 9mm spanner is also required, depending on mech
