    Help....

About 8 weeks ago I got badly sunburned on my back in a kind of V shape (yes i know i was stupid not to have sun cream on) and where i got burned is still very obvious and noticable. The problem is that I have a friends wedding in two weeks and hav got a strapless dress for it which i wont be able to wear unless the mark has reduced alot by then.

So my question is does anyone know of any thing that works to help reduce the mark left by bad sunburn....all suggestions will be greatly appreciated....thanks!

If you apply some dove or nivea gradual tanning moisturizer it should hugely reduce the contrast between burn and no burn. But seriously don't worry too much about it, everybody has lines unless its fake!

I got this spray in boots especially for burns or sunburn called burn shield hydrogel

Thanks Getting There, I wouldnt worry to much if it was a normal tan line, but I am very pale, and i did get burned pretty badly, so its very obvious! But thats a good idea bout the gradual tanners, thanks.

I'd be careful though to moisturise the old burnt area A LOT before using the gradual tanners- because all fake tans come out darker on areas that were recently burnt (the skin is drier & dry skin drinks up fake tan!).

I think if all else fails, use Sally Hansen tan on your back the day of the wedding- you can apply more or less to the different areas so that it all blends in. Maybe give it a practice run beforehand though- but Sally is great for evening out skintone so I'd say it should be good!

Sorry to be a buzzkiller but if you still have a visible burn mark eight WEEKS after you got sunburn you have seriously damaged your skin. You need to be much more careful in future!

Would agree with the suggestion of a gradual self-tanner like Dove's.

It's probably not so much a burn as a 'tan' I'd say. I have really pale skin and I got a burn more than a month ago from about 1.5 hours in the afternoon sun. The area is pinker even still but I think it's just my version of a tan as I can't actually go brown.

Might not be anything you can do. I was badly sunburnt when I was 8 and still have scars from it on my arms.

Do you know anybody who is going to be in France in the next while? You can get an amazing cream over there called Biafine that works on burns. I had a really stupid patch of sunburn on my arm from sitting in a car without suncream, the sun was obviously shining on my arm for a while and I didn't notice. My flatmate gets Biafine every time she goes to France, you can buy it in any pharmacy over there, anyway she let me use it and I can't believe how fast it healed!

Would you not consider getting a spray tan done by a good beautician? I know self tan is cheaper, but at least a beautician will be able to blend in the already tanned areas to make it appear more even overall.
