England Footie Fan Scoops World Cup Million

Mike McNally, 29, from Bradford, West Yorks, scooped the £650,000 jackpot (worth $1m) after predicting the most winners of the tournament matches.

The business graduate correctly forecasted 36 out of the 64 results - more than any other punter in the world - to triumph in the online competition.

Mike told Sky News his tactics were "to go as quick as possible and pick out the obvious win, lose or draws - and just stick to those".

"And I highly fancied Spain or Holland from the start," he said, "as well as England, but they let me down a bit".

His excellent predictions left him neck-and-neck with a rival heading into the final.

Mike thinks he can better the cup's other top predictor next time

But after Mike plumped for a Spain win and his opponent backed Holland, there was always going to be a decider on the night.

Andres Iniesta's goal deep into extra time for Spain tilted Titanbet.com's top prize Mike's way.

After his success, the gifted tipster has his eyes on outdoing another remarkable forecaster.

"Paul the Octopus got 100% right but I think I did fairly well too," he added.

"You know I think I could beat him next time."

Did he have to predict scores or just what team won or drew each match

If he predicted 36 scorelines well then that is really impressive. If it's just actual results it doesn't seem too great. One of my mates put a euro on every game in the 1x2 market just for interest and got 41 of them correct.

AFAIK, it was 1x2 in the group stages and then who to go through in the knockout rounds. All the predictions had to be made before the tournament though

He text back saying 77.76 profit. He's not a gambler and i can only imagine how much he would have made if he was by just betting on that market. I'd also love to get a screen shot off him to stick up here. Not to prove he's not lying as he text me before every game and he told me his bet and i sent him mine. It's quite impressive considering the amount of draws.
