Loading CV to jobs web site a good idea?

Just wondering if anyone has actually got an interview from employers searching through CVs on jobs websites.

I'm trying to decide if I should load up my CV. The paranoid part of me thinks that it would not be a good idea from a data protection point of view.

    Thanks.

In the old days during the boom it was probably a good idea because normally you would be contacted by an agency who probably would have had a few suitable positions for you. However, that was at a time when suitable candidates were in short supply.

Today, I personally would recommend submitting your CV individually for jobs that you are interested in. The agencies are already overloaded with individual job applications and are unlikely to bother looking at general uploaded CV's. When you consider your personal details would also be in the hands of a stranger and that when money is tight for some people, it is not unreasonable to imagine that details are already being passed on to third parties in return for a financial reward, it is not worth it. I have no evidence of this but you just can't take the risk.
