Car Insurance for driver from UK

Quick question, my partner has moved over to Dublin from the UK and is looking for car insurance. Tesco Insurance have just advised him that they cannot insure him as he has not lived in the country for three years. I am hoping that this is not the case with other insurance companies, does anyone else have any experience…

Hi, im from Finland, and got insurance from Quinn, though i had to pay 230 eur deposit.

I have full EU license.
